Peter has worked in the cinema exhibition sector since 1997. In 2011, Peter took on the responsibility for writing the BKSTS CTC Digital Handbook and Certification Scheme (extending the film certification scheme already in existence), which also complimented the Film Projectionist Handbook. The Digital Handbook was available from March 2012. In late 2012 into 2013 Peter was part of a sub-committee who devised a new training programme for providing essentially presentation skills for those that provide the projection type roles across the industry.
In 2014 Peter was award a Fellowship of the BKSTS for his work in the Cinema Industry and also became one of the Independent Cinema Office/BFI Technical Ambassadors, undertaking a variety of different assignments across London and the South East.
Over the years Peter has provided advice and consultancy a large and diverse range of people and companies, including film and television companies. He has always been happy to help anyone who gets in touch in whatever way that he can and feels that this area will continue to expand for him in the future. Despite the change over to digital in the majority of cinema, there are still a number of venues that are able to show celluloid and Peter is involved with a variety of different projects relating to this.
From 2000-July 2015 Peter worked full-time invidious parts of the BBC , involving the film and television archives or Future Media and iPlayer. Since July 2015 he has been a full-time freelance Moving Image Specialist working with a variety of different companies and organisations. Along side this work he has also taken on the role of Commissioning Editor for the world renowned Cinema Technology Magazine, including managing its online presence via www.cinematech.today.
