Nuala O’Sullivan is the founder of Women Over 50 Film Festival (WOFFF) – a celebration of older women in front of and behind the camera. At the BBC World Service she created, wrote and produced the interactive, online soap opera, The Flatmates, for English language learners. Nuala is the author of Teaching English in South-East Asia and English Grammar Workbook for Dummies. She has written plays for theatre and has been a series writer for the BBC Radio 4 drama Brief Lives. In 2015 she set up the Short Hot Flush Film Festival which became the Women Over 50 Film Festival in 2016. WOFFF is currently based at Depot, Lewes, east Sussex.

"WOFFF has screened more than 160 international, independent short films. WOFFF also screens feature films and hosts filmmaker Q&As, workshops, lectures, panel events and filmmaker networking sessions.
We continually work to make our programmes and events inclusive and welcoming to older people. Older people are very likely to be living with hearing loss so our films are subtitled and our events are BSL-signing to benefit d/Deaf and hard of hearing people. We’re also experienced in hosting screenings, workshops and events which are elder- and dementia-friendly."
