Key Expertise: Audience Development, Audience Engagement and Education, Programming
Currently the Young Audiences Co-ordinator for the BFI's Film Audience Network (FAN), Moira's role is to support FAN exhibitors in developing young audiences (16-30) for their independent venues and for independent film. Moira works with film exhibitors, Film Hub Lead Organisations, Into Film and BFI to support young audiences (16-30 year olds) activity across the country.
Moira is also the lead of the FAN Young Consultants group – a group of 20 young people under the age of 30 working in film exhibition formed to provide an authentic ‘youth voice’ for FAN. Working with the group, Moira is able to advise on programming and eventising for 16-30 year olds in collaboration with distributors.
Formerly Senior Film Programmer at the Barbican, specialising in programming for families and children, and then Head of Curation at Into Film, where she led on the curation of the annual Into Film Festival for school children aged 5-19, Moira’s current role, based on her experience, also aims to bridge the gap between film education and the film exhibition sector.
