Freelance cinema consultant with over 17 years' experience working in cultural cinema and specialising in programming, strategy, operations and audience development. Clients include BFFS (now Cinema for All), Regional and National Screen Agencies, Local Authorities, BFI, Access Cinema, South Hill Park, Screen Production Associates, community groups, and regional film festivals including Borderlines, Cornwall, Flicks, Keswick and Whitley Bay.
Worked in independent film sales and distribution from 2001-2005, and has been cinema development consultant to an arts venue in Berkshire for 16 years, programming cinema, devising strategic audience development plans, and advising on the introduction of digital and event cinema. From 2005 to 2013, provided strategic and business development advice to BFFS, re-positioning the charity in the UK's cultural landscape and expanding services to include the innovative National Distribution Booking Scheme, restructuring the Board and membership schemes, and devising the National Conference and the Community Cinema Sourcebook.
Co-creator of on-line film learning scheme Get the Picture, an informal adult film education programme for self-organised film study groups. A passionate advocate for community cinema and proud to be Chair of Bracknell Film Society. Recently led a team of volunteers in a project to initiate, devise and establish regular dementia-friendly screenings.
